Emmanuel is an Anglican Church and is part of the Morden Parish Team in the Diocese of Southwark.
The name ‘Emmanuel’ means ‘God with us’, acknowledging that God became one of us through His Son Jesus Christ. One of the best known verses in the Bible is John chapter 3 verse 16: 'God so loved the world that he gave his only son, that all who believe in him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.'
Christians believe that it is through his Son that we can have peace with God, and that we now have a sure and certain hope in this life and the next. It is our desire to share this hope with those around us.
